| This is where
it all started. Already in our fourth year, we’ve been
providing people from all over an opportunity to visit and play
our collection of vintage pinball machines. Additionally, surrounding
the space is the Trans-View Gallery, where we display a new
artist's work every month. We have been featured in over 12
major publications, three television vignettes, and received
S.F. Bay Guardian's Best of the Bay, 2006, San Francisco Magazine's
"Best of the Bay, 2005” award, East Bay Express's
"Best of the East Bay, 2005" award, and were recently
nominated “Best of the Arts” by the Alameda Chamber.
Our website, www.ujuju.com is #1 on search engines for vintage
pinball and is a respected source of information for pinball
enthusiasts worldwide. |

NBAM Sideshow
With the popularity
of Lucky Ju Ju Pinball/Art Gallery, we’ve expanded into
an adjacent space, which provides more machines, a shop and
a classroom. The space also features a newly restored, full-functioning
1957 AMI Model H Jukebox, a beautiful work of art in itself.
The Sideshow is unique from the Lucky JuJu Pinball/Art Gallery
in that allows us to put together groups of machines that have
a common theme. Our first “themed” room will be
“Outer Space”. It will include machines that reflect
our fascination with the stars, rocket ships, alien life and
more. The space itself will also be transformed to reflect this
theme, through photographs of our amazing universe shot from
the Hubble spacecraft, Sci Fi ephemera and stellar lighting
environment. Future themes will include the Ocean, the West,
Rock n’ Roll and Magic.
The Sideshow shop is open for personal tours where visitors
see machines in various stages of repair. They can 'look under
the hood' to see the work that goes into restoration & maintenance
to keep the machines running.
The classroom is nestled within the shop. Classes
offered immerse the student into the world of electricity, logic,
physics and practical knowledge. The classes include hands-on
demonstrations showing exactly where a schematic meets the real
world, and provide access to all the tools and machines required
for restoration and repair. |

More than a year
in the making, the Lil’ Ju Ju, NBAM’s mobile pinball
museum made it’s maiden voyage to this year’s Pin
A Go Go in Dixon, CA where it received rave reviews. The 1947
Spartan Manor which has been rebuilt with a hydraulic leveling
system, reinforced frame, Torflex suspension, air conditioning,
new interior and outfitted with it’s own jukebox and 6
vintage machines, it was the “Hit of the show” according
to many. Fitted with a battery system and inverter capable of
running without external power for up to 8 hours, it has been
featured in the Alameda 4th of July Parade, The Crucible’s
Fire Arts Festival, San Jose’s CAExtreme, and the W Foundation’s
Our History in Space exhibition in San Rafael. It is available
for rental to private parties/corporations and will serve as
an educational and fundraising tool for NBAM.
